How it works

Grand Draws runs skill-based prize competitions. You pick a prize, answer a genuine skill question, and choose how many tickets to enter, from under £1, or free by post. Every competition has a guaranteed winner, drawn live on its closing date. Because entry is skill-based and a free route is always available, this is not gambling and no gambling licence is required. 18+.

Choose a competition and answer the skill question

Browse the cash prize competitions and pick one. Each has a multiple-choice skill question, and you have to answer it correctly to qualify. That is what keeps entry skill-based, and it is one of the two things that put us outside gambling law.

2

Pick your tickets (or enter free by post)

The more tickets you hold, the better your chances. Tickets start from under £1, and each competition has a maximum per person so no single entrant can dominate. Prefer not to pay? Use the free postal entry route, on exactly the same odds, no purchase necessary.

Watch the live, guaranteed draw

When the competition closes, the winner is drawn using a verifiable random method and streamed live on social. The winner is contacted directly and added to our winners archive, and the tax-free cash is paid straight to their bank.

Not gambling

Skill-based entry + a free route keep us outside gambling law. No licence required.

Guaranteed winners

Every competition is drawn on its closing date, sold out or not.

Transparent draws

Verifiable random selection, live-streamed, with a public winners archive.

Common questions

Are prize competitions legal in the UK?

Yes. Skill-based prize competitions and free draws are lawful under the Gambling Act 2005 and are not classed as gambling, provided they use a genuine skill element or offer a free entry route of equal standing. We do both, so no gambling licence is required.

Why is there a skill question?

The skill question is what makes each competition a lawful prize competition rather than a lottery. You must answer it correctly for your entry to qualify.

What is the free entry route?

You can enter any competition for free by sending a postcard by post with your details and answer. Free entries receive exactly the same number of entries and the same chance of winning as paid entries.

How are winners chosen?

After a competition closes, the winning ticket is selected using a verifiable random method and the draw is live-streamed. Winners are contacted directly and published in our winners archive.

What happens if a competition doesn’t sell out?

It’s still drawn on the closing date. Every competition has a guaranteed winner regardless of how many tickets are sold.
